If your idea of fun is watching new construction videos paired with classical music, then you’ve come to the right place (and you may need to get a hobby).

We had a great day at our Odessa custom farmhouse project a couple weeks ago. A camera was set  up to take photos 5 seconds apart as the roof trusses were being installed.  We took over 3,500 photos that day.

Yep, this is our idea of fun (and yes, we may also need a hobby).

Making videos like this for our clients is a great way for them to be more involved with the process.  Traditionally, homeowners only get to come on site and see these kinds of activities after they are completed. It’s a personal touch we think makes a nice difference.

What are trusses you ask?

Trusses are the wooden framed structure that create a roof over your home. Each piece of the truss is designed to connect to the adjacent trusses as well as strap down to the block structure of the home. To install the trusses it takes a crew of men working on the ground, on the roof, and a man to operate the crane.

To give you a sense of what it takes to install trusses on a home, we have created this time lapsed video to show exactly what goes into a days work. This 2 minute video covers 6 hours of work at our Odessa equestrian custom home in Hillsborough County. At the end you will see the shape of the roof and the house as a whole.
