Certified Green Building Professionals

Integrate sustainable building practices and green features into your home.

We are proud to be Certified as a Green Building Professional by the National Association of Home Builders. Eric Stockland, owner of Charter Bay, was heavily involved with Tampa’s very first green-certified home. If you would like to incorporate sustainable building practices and green materials into your project, we have the necessary experience and green certifications to do so.

Green building is a design concept which focuses on the efficient use of resources such as water, energy, and building materials while reducing impacts on health and the environment. This is accomplished through improved design, careful product selection, advanced construction methods, and proper placement within the construction site.

If green building is important to you, then you should choose to work with a company that is sincere about its green building program. At Charter Bay, we believe in the value of green building and know that it can improve the lives of our clients here in the Tampa area. We do not claim to be experts in all things green, but we have embraced green building, and have some unique green-based qualities that we think have value to our clients.

A good home builder needs to understand the fundamentals of energy consumption, passive heating and cooling systems, natural ventilation systems, window location, shading, and material selection — even color can have a huge impact. The builder also needs to understand current pricing and incentives that might be available for implementing green features. We believe you should look for sincerity, education, and experience.

In 2006, as Chief Operations Officer for Nohl Crest Homes, Eric was heavily involved in the building of the very first Green-Certified Showcase Home in the history of the Tampa Bay Builders Association Parade of Homes.

As pioneers in local green-building implementation, this was a significant accomplishment for him and his entire team. From concept design, to the selection of all of the green features and components for the home, it was a process in which everyone learned a tremendous amount about green building. The end result was an incredible 1.5 million dollar green home that incorporated more green features than any other home in Tampa Bay and still stands as one of the “greenest” homes located in the area today.

By building the first green-certified home in Tampa, as well more than ten other green homes (all of which were built to meet the standards of the Florida Green Building Coalition), Eric gained an enormous amount of green building experience, which he now brings to Charter Bay. Thanks to this experience, our clients have the option of incorporating green building features and components into their custom home.

We understand that the future success of our company depends entirely on our happy new homeowners recommending our services to others. With that understanding, we are committed to providing each of our clients with individual, personalized service and there is nothing we won’t do to ensure that each homeowner comes away thrilled with the home we’ve built and the journey it took to get there.

I was never once let down during the project. Eric is easy to work with, friendly, honest and talented (expecting nothing less from his subs). I would recommend Eric's services to my closest friends.

We have built two previous homes, and this was by far the best experience.
