From producing 3D concept designs, to color selections, to scheduling, on-site management, and governmental compliance, our job is ensure your ultimate satisfaction with your finished renovation project.

This is a broad overview of what to expect:

STEP 1 - THE CALL & VISIT

We set an appointment to meet in person and send you a questionnaire to help visualize your renovation project, which could include kitchen remodeling, new kitchen cabinets, bath remodeling, an overall home renovation, or even adding a home addition. At the meeting we will get to know one another and learn more about the remodel project you have in mind. Discussing your ideas for the project, your wish-list, timeframe, budget guidelines, and any financing-related questions will provide us with a good idea of your project.

At this first meeting you will immediately begin experiencing the Charter Bay difference as we set you up on our online collaborative idea and brainstorming tool and your remodel project begins to take shape. There is no charge for this initial design consultation.

STEP 2 - FIRST DRAFT

From the meeting, and with your approval to move forward, we take everything we have learned and use our top-of-the-line home design software to begin drawing up concepts for your remodel project. With these preliminary remodel plans, and a scope of work, we can create budget estimates along with any variations of the plans for review.

STEP 3 - CONCEPT REVIEW AND PRICING ESTIMATE

Once the first drafts are complete we get back together to review the concept drawings and discuss rough pricing ranges for the project. If everything looks acceptable, it's time to move to the Design Review part of the process, which means it is time for us to really get rolling. At this point, we also create your login to access your project on our Project Management system, which allows you to view the status of all aspects of your project as it progresses. Open communication is the hallmark of all Charter Bay systems and from this point forward you have a front row seat to the progress and participation of your project. At this point you will be notified of what monies are required to continue moving forward with your project.

STEP 4 - DESIGN AND SELECTIONS

We will help you through all aspects of the design selections for your remodeling project. As your selections are made they will be added to our online Color Sheet so everyone clearly knows, and can access, what is to be included with the home. This process frequently involves onsite visits at supplier showrooms for items such as flooring, plumbing supplies, granite, pavers, and the like. All structural elements must be determined at this time in order for the final plans sets to be submitted for permitting.

STEP 5 - FINAL DOCUMENTS

Once revisions are finalized for your design, we will each sign off on the final construction agreement and will collect the next payment for the project to cover permitting fees, the ordering of necessary materials to begin the project, and associated costs. At this time construction plans will receive final engineering and will be submitted to the appropriate permitting department. A final scope of work will be created to verbalize what is pictured in your construction documents and list all final product selections. The project schedule will be finalize to show projected start and completion dates, major milestones, and a draw schedule to outline the payment schedule as construction milestones are met.

STEP 6 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Prior to commencement we meet with all trades and suppliers to review the plans and requirements for the project. In addition, a pre-construction meeting is held with the client to ensure everyone is on the same page prior to commencement. During the project we meet with our clients about once a week. However, our project management and communication tools also allow us to keep in nearly constant contact with our clients during the entire process.

STEP 7 - POST CONSTRUCTION

Everything is wrapped up and what was once only a dream is now a beautiful reality. A warranty is provided on all work performed, and just as was the case during construction, we are always just a phone call away.
