When you build with Charter Bay, you’ll never be handed off to a superintendent or shuffled between departments. You’ll work directly with Eric Stockland, the founder of Charter Bay, who will personally oversee every phase of your home, from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Eric will take the time to understand not just what kind of home you want, but why. He’ll work closely with you from the start, beginning with the design phase. You’ll work together to shape your ideas into a home that feels deeply personal. Because he’s involved from day one, he knows your vision inside and out, and carries that knowledge with him throughout construction.
He’ll be on-site, coordinating trades, managing the schedule, and checking every detail. You won’t be calling a faceless superintendent, chasing down answers, or left wondering who’s in charge. You’ll work directly with the person whose name is on the company and who is personally invested in getting it built right.

At Charter Bay, we intentionally limit the number of homes we build each year so we can provide true one-on-one service. Every project is personally led by our founder, Eric Stockland—not handed off to a rotating cast of characters. From design to construction, we offer hands-on expertise, clear communication, and a level of accountability that’s rare in this industry.
We specialize in large-scale, full-custom homes tailored to each client’s vision. Our homes are typically 5000 sq ft or more. Whether you’re inspired by Farmhouse, Mediterranean, or Modern, we build estate homes that reflect your lifestyle and your aesthetic right down to the last detail.
We are a true design-build firm. That means we guide you through both the architectural design and construction process under one roof. You can bring your own plans, or work closely with Eric to design your home from scratch. Either way, you’ll benefit from a seamless, collaborative experience.
Yes. Our homes are engineered for Florida’s unique environmental challenges—including hurricanes, flooding, heat, and humidity. From elevated foundations and advanced drainage systems to hurricane-rated materials and structural reinforcements, your home will be as resilient as it is beautiful.
We build throughout the Tampa Bay Area, including Hillsborough, Pasco, and Hernando counties. We specialize in building large-scale, custom homes on privately owned lots—whether you already own land or need help finding the perfect homesite, we can guide you through the entire process.
Yes. In addition to design and construction, we offer lot selection and real estate services to help you secure the right property for your new home. Eric holds a Florida real estate broker’s license, which allows us to assist with everything from land evaluation to negotiating your purchase.
Most of our custom homes take between 18 to 24 months from initial planning to completion, depending on the size, complexity, and permitting requirements. Because we build a limited number of homes each year, you get the time and attention your project deserves.
While our primary focus is custom new home construction, we do occasionally take on large-scale luxury renovations. These projects are typically whole-home remodels or extensive additions and must meet certain size and scope criteria to align with our hands-on approach.
